"BUILDING VIRTUES THROUGH MUSIC"
The Guadalajara International Music Festival
FIMG offers its students the opportunity to work with top-level professors in masterclasses, technical workshops and chamber music classes. In addition, you will be able to participate in recitals as a soloist, with a chamber group and a string orchestra.
- We accept applications from already formed chamber groups, but the payment of the registration fee is for each member of the group. The masterclasses are individual for each member of the ensemble, they will only participate as a group in the chamber music classes and recital. Participants who register individually will be assigned a group for the chamber music classes.
- All our activities will take place in the Historic Center of Guadalajara.
DEADLINE AND VIDEO
- The deadline to apply is Wednesday, October 30.
- You must submit a video of you performing a piece of your choice (for example: the exposition of a concerto). The video must not be older than 12 months and with a duration of 5 minutes at least.
- Applications as a chamber group must send a video of the group.
COSTS AND PAYMENT DATES.
- The fee for active participants is $8,000 Mexican pesos. It includes masterclasses with all the professors of their instrument, technical workshops, chamber music classes, participation in recitals as soloists, with a chamber group and a string orchestra, delivery of a certificate of participation signed by the professors of their instrument, welcome kit and access to all the festival concerts.
- Tuition can be paid in three installments on the following dates:
1st payment for $3,000 pesos: November 20th.
2nd payment $2,500 pesos: December 20th.
3rd payment $2,500 pesos: January 20th.
- The cost for participating listeners is $1,000 Mexican pesos. It includes access as a listener to all masterclasses and chamber music classes, delivery of a certificate of participation signed by the professors of their instrument, a welcome kit and access to all the festival concerts.
SCHOLARSHIP FOR EXCELLENCE
Winning participants of the Excellence Scholarship in the 2024 edition must apply, including an updated video to confirm their participation, but they already have a guaranteed place at no cost in the 2025 edition.
GENERAL INFORMATION
- The most outstanding participants will play in a chamber group alongside one of the festival's professors. These participants will be selected based on their application video.
- All participants accepted into the festival must attend all musical activities assigned to them during the festival, without exception.
- During the festival there will be a luthier available for minor repairs if necessary and this will be free of charge for active festival participants.
- There will be a day of recreation/tourism, this activity will be optional.
ACCOMMODATION (optional)
- We have made an agreement with the Olga Querida Hostel, located in the center of Guadalajara, which offers the following conditions for those who are interested.
- Female dormitory with 12 beds and another male dormitory with 11 beds, each dormitory has several showers and bathrooms, includes continental breakfast, Wi-Fi, access to a kitchen for those who wish to prepare their lunch or dinner and access to laundry facilities.
The cost per night is $240 pesos per person, for a total of $2,400 Mexican pesos for the entire festival stay.
- Rooms for 2, 4, 5 or 6 people, some of these rooms have a double bed that must be shared, but they are more private. They have a private bathroom, include continental breakfast, Wi-Fi, access to a kitchen for those who want to prepare their lunch or dinner and access to a laundry room.
The cost per night is $300 pesos per person, for a total of $3,000 Mexican pesos for the entire festival stay.
- Participants interested in using the Hostel must pay for their accommodation in the first two payments of their registration.
- One of the advantages of staying at the hostel is that you can study and receive visitors without time restrictions. The hostel has a terrace that can be used for socializing.
- Transportation and meals must be covered by each student.

* Our activities are from April 14 to April 22, but participants are required to arrive on April 13 for our welcome meeting and depart on April 23, as our final concert is on the night of April 22.
